Notice to Parents: Because of the current labour dispute, only grade 12 marks are supposed to be provided on report cards. Written comments are proscribed. This does not mean that we are not reporting marks to students and parents regularly.

If you want an update regarding marks or other information you need only e-mail me at the address above. I am happy to give a full account that goes well beyond what a report card provides.

This blogsite will have all of the changing material -- lesson plans and links to assignments. I will try to ensure that all assignments are posted here.If you see something underlined, it means that you can click on the item to have it appear. I will do this for all pdf documents, PowerPoints, videos, and even some music.

As of the time of posting, there are no classes on Monday to Wednesday, because of the labour dispute. Things might change, so pay attention to the news and be prepared to come back to see changes on this site if they do. We are all hoping for a fair and just resolution to this dispute.

The Rome Unit Test will not be until after Spring Break.

• Thursday, March 8 - Hand in the Architecture Hunt assignment. Take up #1-6, p. 12. Look at the sidebar on p. 11. Video: Constantine and questions. Read pp. 12-16. Do #1-6, p. 16. Bring coloured pencils to next class for map work.
• Friday, March 9 - Take up #1-6, p. 16. Complete watching Constantine and the questions. Hosford Atlas, pp. 3 & 4. Screencast on the Decline of Rome. Also look at this video of the changing map of Europe during this time. Map Assignment: The "Barbarian Invasions." 10 marks. Complete for next class after Spring Break.

Social Studies 11

We just finished a unit test, but we will complete the Government unit this week with a very quick look at Provincial and Municipal Government. A take-home test will be assigned on Friday for you to complete over the break. This will require you to do some research and cover this topic more thoroughly than we can manage in class.

• Friday, March 9 - Take up #1-6, p 196 (red book) and #2-4, p. 246 (blue book). Take up homework. Discuss Aboriginal self-government. Mayor Mussatto's PowerPoint on Municipal affairs. Take home test on Provincial and Municipal Government.
