**Unit Test on Topic 3 this Friday.

  • Monday October 23 - Germany, France and Britain in the 1920s.
  • Tuesday October 24 - Video - "The Road to War; Britain" - note, this video bridges Topic 3 and 4.
  • Wednesday October 25 - Japan in the 1920s and 1930s.
  • Thursday October 26 - AV on the Great Depression era - Probably "The Road to War; Japan."
  • Friday October 27 - Unit Test on Topic 3. Topic 4 assigned.

  • Monday October 23 - PowerPoint - Early Medieval Art. Work on Packages. Hand in Islam package today.
  • Tuesday October 24 - PowerPoint - Carolingian and Ottonian Architecture. Work on package.
  • Wednesday October 25 - Episode 17 of The Western Tradition. The Dark Ages. (access at www.learner.org). Work on package.
  • Thursday October 26 - Music of the Troubadours. Work on package.
  • Friday October 27 - The Great Thaw package assigned. Filmstrip. Work on packages.

  • Monday October 23 - Block 3 - Take up #1-2, p. 24. Canada and the Empire. PowerPoint. Read pp. 24-30. Do #1-3 (sidebar) p. 28 and 1-4, p. 30. Block 4 with Miss Hartigan - same material covered, though in different format. Same homework.
  • Tuesday October 24 - Photography as historical evidence. Computer Lab and photographic analysis assignment (10 marks - due Thursday). Read pp. 30-34. Do #1-3, p. 34.
  • Wednesday October 25 - Take up homework. Background on the origin of World War I (lecture or PowerPoint). If time, filmstrip or video on the origins of the war. Read pp. 36-38. Do #1-3, p. 38. Pre-War Alliances Map Assignment - 10 marks, based on completion, accuracy and appearance - due Friday.
  • Thursday October 26 - Take up homework. Submit Photo Assignment. Begin video and questions on The Killing Ground. Read pp. 38-47. Do #1-3, p. 40; #1-3 (sidebar), p. 42; and #1-5, p. 47.
  • Friday October 27 - Take up homework. Continue The Killing Ground. Read pp. 47-53. Do #1-3, p. 53.
